Hi, My name is Beverly..
Hi, my name is Beverly.
I am a stay at home mom of two boys. I am so lucky that I get to homeschool.
JD is 10(top of picture), and JJ is 8(bottom of picture).
With my husband Jeremiah, we live in Stuttgart, Germany.
Today is our three year anniversary of living overseas.
I wanted to start this blog to be an encouragement to homeschool families all over the world, and just share my failures and triumphs, and our adventure as we all explore together.
How we started homeschooling...
We started this adventure when my oldest was in 1st grade. My husband got a chance to come to Germany for 4 months for work. We decided to pull JD our of school and finish the year homeschooling so we could go with Dad.
My youngest would be started kindergarten the following year. He saw his brother doing school and decided he wanted too do school also. So I jumped in with both boys, not having clue as to what i was doing. I went to our local homeschool book store and picked out a math curriculum, and an all in one work book for both boys, and "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons". Then we hopped on a plane and went to Germany for 3 months. This was never suppose to be a long term thing. We simple were taking advantage of time to live and travel in Germany/Europe. When we got back to school in the fall.
After my Husband got to Germany (he went ahead to find us a place to stay). He got offered more permanent position there. So we took some time prayed and thought about it, then accepted. This trip to Germany turned into a trial run of living here. I learned how to organize the trash (i have 4 different bins, and if it is not sorted right they will not pick it up), when the quiet time is (Sundays are quiet days, and some parks are closed daily from 12-2), how to shop at the local grocery store, and many other things.
We went back home packed up our house, sold 2 cars and moved to Germany in just under 90 day.
July 23, 2016 my parents dropped us off at the Atlanta Airport, and we moved to Germany...
