2021 Bullet Jounal

Image
I still am using a bullet journal. I still love it. I post all my weekly layouts and monthly cover in Instagram @homeschoolbulletjournal. Here is a peek in my 2021 yearly set up. I really like the Cover page I came up with. This year we will be moving and big changes are coming. I felt that a compass was a good reminder to stay the course and believe that God has got it all.

Started the blog... then Life Happened...

So I started this blog and then things happened and it got pushed to the side. The year 2020 was a crazy year for us. But I felt very prepared when the lockdowns started. As a homeschool mom, we just carried on with what were doing (minus the field trips, and traveling). We were able to push though and meet some goals early.  JD really got into reading...and grandma keeps sending awesome books.    I have to say I am so thankful that I homeschool. We did not have to do any transitions to online school, or deal with a school system scrabbling to get things in order. Thankfully we were able to just continue on with normal school days.  JJ working on math     I am also so thankful that my kids or I don't have to deal teaching what another Teacher has assigned. I don't think that online school is homeschooling, when you are doing it through the public school system. I love that I get to teach my kids things that we find interesting, and...

Trip to France...

Image
In the beginning of November we took five days and headed over to France. We stayed at a little cabin on a lake outside Paris. We took on day and drove over to Versailles (Happy Birthday to me) and then just hung out at the cabin the second day. On the drive home we stopped at Belleau Wood to celebrate the USMC birthday (November 11). Versailles was amazing. When we got there we went to the gardens first, because the line to get inside was soooo long. It was beautiful, even though it had been winterized (all statues and large planters were covered, fountains turned off). I have seen pictures but could never imagine how big it actually was until we saw it. We rented bikes and rode around the gardens for a hour (bucket list ✔). Then we went and toured the inside. It was amazing. So thankful that we got to explore it. Hall of Mirrors I brought the camera along, and let the boys use it to take pictures. The only picture that turned out for bike r...

Adventures in Stuttgart part 4

We next went to Burg (castle) Hohenzollern. It was a wonderful place to visit. The castle that sits on the site now was built in the 1850. It has been an important part of the the Prussian royal family. You park a little ways down from the castle. There is a large parking lot (you do have to pay to park). There you buy your tickets,we chose to do the guided English tour. You can take a shuttle bus or hike up to the castle. We always walk, it was about 15 minutes. View of the castle as we hike up to it. The views from the castle are wonderful. The picture above shows a little white church in the forest. Legend says that it originally sat on the hill where the castle was. Angels came down and moved it out of the way, so the castle could be built in 11th century. There are two places to eat. We ate at the outdoor restaurant. It was very windy. We took the guided tour, but picture of the interior are not aloud. It gave some great history of...
